Medical Transportation
Timber Trails provides what’s called Non-Emergency Medical Transportation or NEMT to the residents of Kanabec County. Federal and State mandates require that local agencies ensure the recipients of Medical Assistance are able to obtain medically necessary health care. This “Human Services” transportation includes a broad range of transportation services for transportation-disadvantaged populations; primarily, persons with disabilities, seniors, low-income individuals and children.
Our Common Carrier program was developed to meet the transportation portion of the medical and health maintenance needs for the residents of our two-county area. The Common Carrier program compliments our Public Transit Service – the Public Transit Service provides these rides locally, within the public transit service design. The Common Carrier Service provides those rides that go out of the local service area – to the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Duluth and Brainerd etc.
