Who Can Ride the Bus?

We are public transit. People of every age ride our buses for all sorts’ of reasons. We take people shopping, visiting, to see doctors and get physical therapy; to the beauty shop, and to restaurants for dinner. Children ride the bus to pre-school and activities, to daycare and moms & dads take their kids to the library and the museums.

It’s for everyone!

How Do I Get a Ride?

  1. Call our dispatchers at 888-217-5222 or locally at 320-983-2494. They will ask a few questions about your address and phone number, the places you’d like to go and the times that you’d like to be there. For statistical data they will also ask for your date-of-birth and ethnicity, that information is completely voluntary. You will be given a window of time that you can expect the bus. They will also help you determine your bus fare, so you’ll know in advance how much it will cost.
  2. Watch for the bus. The bus will pick you up at the address you give the dispatchers. Please be in site of the driver and ready to go when the bus arrives. It is very important for keeping the bus on schedule that each rider be ready when the bus arrives. We try very hard to be on-time for everyone, for that reason the bus will only wait three minutes for a rider to come out.
  3. Assistance boarding the buses. All of our buses are equipped with lifts to assist riders who have difficulty with the steps or who use walkers or wheelchairs. It is our goal to make your transportation with us as easy and as pleasant as possible. We want to assist you, so don’t be hesitant to use the lift.

How Do I Pay for My Ride?

Just inside the door of each bus is a farebox. When you get on the bus, you drop your money or tickets in the farebox. The driver’s don’t carry cash or have access to the farebox so you’ll need to have the correct change.

The cost for a bus ride with-in the community one-way is $1.50 or $3.00 for a round trip. Same day rides and rides out of the community cost more. The dispatchers will be happy to explain everything when you call in.

Timber Trails has ticket packages that save you money. When you purchase ticket packages in advance you get free rides!
If your ride is for a medical appointment, Timber Trails may be able to bill your medical insurance provider for your ride. Be sure to talk with our dispatchers about that possibility.

We would never leave anyone stranded; if the bus gets you there we’ll make sure you get home.

Commuter Transit

As we all look for ways to help our economy recover and make a better world for everyone, Timber Trails believes that commuter bus service and connections to commuter and high speed rail are a part of the future. We are studying and planning, we intend to be ready when the opportunities arise.
